Ruff 0.16 enables PLC0414 by default (#210). It flags
import X as X, which is the idiom type checkers (mypy--no-implicit-reexport, pyright strict) recognize as an explicit re-export. Worse, its fix strips the alias and F401 then removes the now-"unused" import, silently dropping public names, as happened indistutils/errors.py.Encountered again in jaraco/tempora#59, where
schedule.pyintentionally re-exportsnowso clients can override it.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
