Tanay Jain — Cloud, DevOps, Kubernetes, AWS

Building repeatable infrastructure, reliable delivery pipelines, and observable cloud-native systems.

👋 About Me

I'm a BCA student focused on Cloud, DevOps, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure Engineering.

I learn by building real systems, deliberately breaking them, debugging failures from evidence, and documenting what I find.

My work spans:

AWS · Terraform · Kubernetes · Docker · GitHub Actions · Ansible · Python · Bash · PostgreSQL

I care about understanding why systems behave the way they do, not just getting them to work.

Build → Break → Diagnose → Recover → Document

🎯 Current Focus

Going deeper into:

Kubernetes Failure Engineering · Helm · AWS EKS · GitOps · Observability

Current direction:

Kubernetes → Helm → EKS → GitOps → Platform Engineering

🧰 Technologies I Work With

Technologies: AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, Python, Linux, Bash, Git, GitHub, PostgreSQL

Area Technologies
Cloud AWS — EC2, RDS, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager
Infrastructure as Code Terraform, Packer
Containers & Orchestration Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, kind
CI/CD GitHub Actions, OIDC
Configuration & Remote Management Ansible, AWS Systems Manager
Languages Python, Bash
Database PostgreSQL
Operating Systems Linux / Ubuntu

🏗️ Flagship Projects

01 · Kubernetes Failure Engineering Capstone

Highlights

  • Flask Deployment — 2 replicas
  • PostgreSQL Deployment — 1 replica
  • Kubernetes Services + EndpointSlice-based debugging
  • ConfigMap + Secret configuration
  • Dependency-aware /health readiness
  • Verified liveness + startup probes
  • PostgreSQL PersistentVolumeClaim
  • Dedicated ServiceAccount with automountServiceAccountToken: false
  • Deliberate failures across configuration, routing, dependencies, authentication, readiness, storage, scheduling, RBAC, and infrastructure
  • Reproducible rebuild verified in isolated namespace sep28-repro

Stack: Kubernetes · kind · Flask · PostgreSQL · Docker

02 · Terraform IaC Platform

Jul 2026 · Completed

An end-to-end AWS deployment demonstrating automated application delivery, container publishing, infrastructure integration, and health verification.

Highlights

  • GitHub Actions — lint → test → build → deploy → verify
  • Docker Buildx with layer caching
  • Amazon ECR image publishing
  • EC2 deployment automation
  • Custom VPC
  • PostgreSQL RDS

Stack: Flask · PostgreSQL · Docker · GitHub Actions · EC2 · RDS · ALB · ECR

🧰 Additional Work

☁️ AWS Automation

aws-automation

Python + boto3 automation for AWS administration, infrastructure checks, uptime monitoring, and reporting.

🐧 Linux Automation

linux-bash-scripts

Bash automation for system health monitoring, disk alerts, log cleanup, user provisioning, and verified backups.

✍️ Technical Writing

I document the systems I build, the failures I reproduce, and the engineering decisions behind them.
