I don't know if its intentional that readme documentation ain't describing how to change the settings like for changing max speed via the Python command.

TL;DR: to change the maximum speed for the assist profile 2 the atm. most user-friendly command is:

python m25_ecs.py --left-addr AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF --right-addr 11:22:33:44:55:66 --left-key HEXKEY --right-key HEXKEY --set-max-speed 8.5 --for-level 2

Explanation: the --set-max-speed command line flag (accepts values from 2.0 to 8.5 km/h) is the one for changing the maximum speed. It needs to be specified together with the assist level, this is the --for-level parameter. For applying the max speed for the assist level 1, just use the 1 flag instead of the 2 in a separate command.
The upper example would then be for 8.5km/h max speed for the assist level 2, given the MAC addresses and AES keys are the ones for the drive you want to talk to.

To confirm the settings were applied run:

python m25_ecs.py --left-addr AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF --right-addr 11:22:33:44:55:66 --left-key HEXKEY --right-key HEXKEY

To be honest: the documentation right now is a really minimal subset of what's actually implemented and possible to do with the code and the reverse engineered protocol. I'll definitely add extensive and more user-friendly documentation in the next weeks.
