Is v2 enough stable to upgrade and merge into master

Hi team.
I see v2 branch has been updated a long time but it is not merge to master branch.
I'm going to upgrade v2 to newest opentk nuget version and . Net8 sdk. Then merge to master.

Can anyone tell me the difference (idea, architect, feature,..) between the master branch and the v2 branch. As my see, v2 has missed a lot features from master and is not stable enough.

• Answer:

The idea with the V2 branch was to make a small wrapper library that wraps opengl objects and allows easy querying of their state etc. But this work never really got to completion.

ObjectTK has been "dead" for a long time and is unlikely to be revived.

Looking back, there is a closed PR that did a straight upgrade to OpenTK 4.x that Catsillas did. At the time varon wanted to redesign the api in a less opinionated way I guess you could phrase it. And this effort fizzled out when there was no clear direction for the new API

It was unfortunate that we didn't manage to get catsillas contributions and engagement into the project. Which is kind of a failure of the maintainer team.

Though, at the same time I also have a personal conviction that ObjectTK isn't a good idea for people learning OpenGL. The api is object oriented, which is bad, and it abstracts away the actual OpenGL calls obscuring what is actually happening, meaning it's harder to get help and you learn an api that doesn't transfer to other languages.

As such I've considered archiving the ObjectTK project, but I've not done so, I guess in case it has a revival
