I'm waiting for a openstack-k8s-operators member to verify that this patch is reasonable to test. If it is, they should reply with /ok-to-test on its own line. Until that is done, I will not automatically test new commits in this PR, but the usual testing commands by org members will still work.
Regular contributors should join the org to skip this step.
Once the patch is verified, the new status will be reflected by the ok-to-test label.
Instructions for interacting with me using PR comments are available here. If you have questions or suggestions related to my behavior, please file an issue against the kubernetes-sigs/prow repository.
Service overrides can now change the exposed port for a named service port. Values must be between 1 and 65535, and names that don’t match an existing port are rejected.
The override leaves the target port and other generated port settings unchanged. Omitting the port overrides leaves service ports untouched.
The service override schemas add named port overrides for generated Service ports. The root and API Go module files also update dependency versions.
Changes: Service port overrides
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Service port override schema api/bases/ovn.openstack.org_ovndbclusters.yaml, config/crd/bases/ovn.openstack.org_ovndbclusters.yaml
Both schemas add an atomic array of port overrides. Each entry requires a matching base Service port name and a port number from 1 through 65535. The override changes only the exposed port; other generated port fields remain unchanged.
Go module version updates api/go.mod, go.mod
The module files update required versions of infra-operator/apis and lib-common modules.
A port override can be accepted yet have no effect when the Service type is omitted. Reject unsupported configurations in both CRD copies before merging, or explicitly accept this bounded risk.

override.service.spec.ports is accepted by the generic OverrideServiceSpec, but a configuration with ports and no type enters the non-LoadBalancer branch. That branch creates the headless top-level Service with service.NewService(..., nil), so the accepted port overrides are silently ignored and the generated ports remain unchanged.
The description states an intended LoadBalancer use but does not restrict the field to LoadBalancer Services. Add schema validation that rejects non-empty ports unless type is LoadBalancer.
