[cadence 26400df0b869d4ef] Re-declaring an existing story resets its refinement metadata without resetting the truths view, leaving contradictory current state. #293

Open

Description

@crenshawdev

Raised at crates/baley-core/src/scope/backlog.rs:147 as medium by openai, ruled refuted.

Claim. Re-declaring an existing story resets its refinement metadata without resetting the truths view, leaving contradictory current state.

Failure scenario. Declare story 1, open and close set S, approve two truths, then declare story 1 again—the projector explicitly supports replacing an existing declaration. This initialization sets set/refined to null and truths to zero, so backlog reads report unrefined with no truths. TruthsProjector handles only story.refined and still reports the two approved truths as current. Re-declaration must preserve the refinement metadata or consistently invalidate the current truths across projections.
