Should always be to genes if there is a gene column
I.e in our genes to phenotypes and alleles the enrichment is alleles by default.
Enriching n alleles would be rare and likely not useful (especially if you can enrich on genes)

Can you give exact instructions to reproduce? I'm not able to - it always seems to default to gene for me. Note that if you change it to allele, it will continue with allele for the rest of the session if available unless you change it to something else (your own selection will override the default).
