A theming framework for ComicRack RE Community Edition that recolors the whole application from data-only skin files - no code required to add a new look.
Skins are plain JSON files under themes/. Pick one from the Display -> Theme Framework... menu
and it applies live, no restart needed.
A skin covers:
- Chrome: menu bar, toolbar, status bar, panels, the library tree and list views - recolored by walking the live control tree.
- Native-drawn UI: library tree count badges, item view group markers, smart query syntax highlighting, comic book reader link colors, and detail view row highlighting - areas ComicRack paints itself from its own internal, read-only color table. These are reached via runtime patches (Harmony) rather than the normal plugin API, since there's no supported way to override them otherwise.
Two skins ship out of the box (Midnight Ink, Matrix Green). Adding another is just adding another
themes/*.json file with the same shape - see either existing one as a template.
- Download or clone this repo.
- Copy the whole folder into
%APPDATA%\cYo\ComicRack Community Edition\Scripts\Theme Framework\. - Start (or restart) ComicRack.

- Harmony by Andreas Pardeike (MIT) - the runtime patching library that makes the native-drawn areas themeable at all.
- The vendored
json,os, and related standard library modules are from CPython 2.7 (PSF License), needed because ComicRack's embedded IronPython doesn't ship them. See THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt for full attribution. - Built on what Comic Vine Scraper and MangaUpdateScraper already worked out about ComicRack's plugin host.
