Barometer shows "impossible" values

I love the concept behind this! Thanks so much for doing this. Unfortunately, the numbers I get are generally nonsensical using 2.1.0. Can I help debug?

The barometer is set to 30 minutes. (I assume the setting is in code?) As of 3:52 p.m. EST today...

• The stock Visitors in Real-Time widget reports we had received 18 visits.
• The Barometer reports more than 83 visitors (which I assume is the most in a 30-minute period in the last 30 days)

So something is amiss...

In my case, both barometers shows 0.

When "tracing" with firebug, I get something like this :
