🟡 Minor · Disable unsupported Linux-only settings on non-Linux builds. · engine.rs:322-332
crates/gosub_engine/src/engine/engine.rs:322-332
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winDisable unsupported Linux-only settings on non-Linux builds.
On feature-enabled non-Linux builds, an explicit
truevalue forsecurity.cookie_vault,security.storage_service, orsecurity.renderer_processremains enabled. Their modules and startup paths are Linux-gated, so no corresponding isolated service starts. This leaves the configuration reporting isolation as enabled while the engine uses the in-process path. Turn off these settings at this resolver for non-Linux builds, or reject explicit overrides with a warning.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

🟡 Minor · Warn when explicit isolation settings are unavailable. · engine.rs:280-293
crates/gosub_engine/src/engine/engine.rs:280-293
🔒 Security & Privacy | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winWarn when explicit isolation settings are unavailable.
When
process-isolationis disabled, this branch turns off all five process settings without checking whether an embedder explicitly enabled them. No warning states that the requested isolation is unavailable. The application can therefore run without isolation while the operator believes the request was honored. Warn for explicitly enabled settings before callingturn_off.Suggested fix

🟡 Minor · Enforce the favicon limit while the network fetcher reads the body. · worker.rs:619-649
crates/gosub_engine/src/engine/tab/worker.rs:619-649
🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winEnforce the favicon limit while the network fetcher reads the body.
fetch_faviconrequests.with_streaming(false), so the fetcher returns a completeFetchResult::Bufferedbody. The worker checksbody.len() > MAX_FAVICON_BYTESonly after that body exists. A remote favicon larger than 512 KiB can therefore allocate and copy its full response before rejection, causing avoidable memory pressure.Add a per-request body limit to the
gosub_sonar::net::Fetcherread path, or enforce the equivalent bound in the network-process body reader. The check inworker.rsis too late to enforce the memory limit.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

🟡 Minor · Enforce global caps when restoring cookie jars. · cookie_jar.rs:318-342
crates/gosub_engine/src/engine/cookies/cookie_jar.rs:318-342
🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winEnforce global caps when restoring cookie jars.
JSON and SQLite loaders, and the vault’s
OpenZonehandler, accept snapshots above the 3000-cookie or 8 MiB global caps. Request reads and persistence can use that state before a response mutation callsenforce_total_cap.This restoration gap is separate from the serialized-size finding. Correcting the byte estimate does not enforce caps on restored jars.

…ounded address-space cache, isolation settings off without the feature
A full origin evicted its oldest cookie to take a new one, even when the bucket held an expired cookie that would never be sent again. A live cookie then went while the expired one stayed. The bucket now drops its expired cookies first and evicts the oldest only if it is still full.
Without process-isolation the function's body ends in the cfg arm's return, which clippy flags as needless; CI does not lint that build, so nothing caught it. The cfg arms need the explicit return, as elsewhere in the engine, so the lint is allowed with that reason.
The icon check let a response through when its Content-Type was missing or unreadable, so a page-chosen URL could hand any bytes under the size limit to the embedder's image decoder. The response must now declare an image/ type. Local files still pass: the file loader types its images.
Mouse activation refused a page link to anything but the web (or, from a file page, another file); Enter on a focused link navigated wherever the href pointed, internal gosub: pages included, and to the raw href when it did not resolve. Both now go through page_link_target.
b062314 required the Content-Type to start with "image/", but media types are case-insensitive: an icon served as Image/PNG was dropped. The prefix is now compared ignoring ASCII case. The favicon tests share one helper and cover a missing type, a non-image type and a mixed-case image type.
The per-origin cap bounded nothing: origins are unbounded, a page can name one per <img>. In the vault every change ships the whole jar, and past the link's frame cap nothing persisted (now said, not silent). At 3000 cookies, the order browsers use, expired ones go first and then the oldest anywhere in the jar. Unit test.
3000 cookies did not bound the serialized jar: a Set-Cookie line is up to 4 KiB and the default path, from the URL, is outside that limit, so the vault's snapshot could outgrow its 16 MiB frame and nothing persisted from then on. An 8 MiB budget over the cookies' strings, enforced with the count in the same eviction order. Test.
A restored jar may hold more than 180 cookies for an origin; one eviction per insertion left it over the limit on every store. Evicts until there is room. Test.
An unrecognised SameSite value is kept verbatim, so it is part of the snapshot the vault has to accept.
