What & why

Track the existing Python 3.13 pin instead of ignoring it.
CI previously received no pin and selected Python 3.14, which the locked dependency versions do not support.
Local development and CI now share the same Python version selection.

Architecture

  • .python-version: pins uv's interpreter selection to Python 3.13 for dependency installation and dbt commands.
  • +1 file: ignore-rule cleanup.
  • No API or schema changes.
  • Tested: git diff --check; confirmed the version file is no longer ignored.
  • Needs human eyes: verify dependency installation passes in CI; CI has not been rerun.
  • Blast radius: repositories created from this template inherit the Python 3.13 pin; existing repositories are unchanged. No deploy ordering requirements.
Agent context
  • No agent review yet.
  • Reproduction: git check-ignore -v .python-version previously identified the ignore rule; the failing CI selected CPython 3.14.4 and failed building pydantic-core==2.33.2 because PyO3 supports up to Python 3.13.
  • Failing CI job
