Summary

Five general patterns based on the survey of live organizing sites. None has site-specific text, and buttons have no links until an editor adds them.

  • Events and calendar: three upcoming meeting cards (date, name, location, RSVP button), an embed area for a calendar such as Google Calendar or Action Network, and an "Open the full calendar" button.
  • Embedded form: a framed spot for a signup form, petition, or donation form, such as Action Network.
  • Header with button: the site header with a button, such as "Join", beside the navigation. Editors can pick it when replacing the header in the Site Editor. The title wraps sooner, so the menu, button, and appearance switch stay on the title's row at 390 px and wider. At 320 px they move to a second row.
  • Join steps: three numbered steps (Become a member, Come to a meeting, Find your group), each with a button, followed by a donation band. CSS numbers the steps, so reordering keeps the sequence.
  • Footer with columns: the site title and tagline, spots for contact details and social icons, and a full-width spot for a legal notice. It's an alternative to the existing footer.

Empty embed areas and empty footer spots stay hidden on the front end until an editor adds content; the editor still shows their placeholders. Embedded form iframes fill their frame's width.

Readme: says Peppermint needs few plugins, explains the light and dark setting, describes how accessibility is tested, and points contributors to AGENTS.md.

The version is 2.1.0. No content migration is needed: nothing changes on a site until someone inserts a new pattern.

Testing

  • test:full against the Local preview site: 1,211 passed, 21 skipped, 0 failed. It includes a new chapters component for /theme-preview/chapter-patterns/ (geometry, axe, empty spots, and embed widths).
  • php tests/run.php static --require-wordpress: 6 passed, 0 failed. The POT catalog is updated.
  • Block validation: 50 passed. PHPCS, profiles (27), and the repository policy pass.
  • Headless screenshots at 360, 768, and 1,440 px in light and dark: no overflow. The header variant was checked at 320, 390, 768, and 1,440 px in left-to-right and right-to-left text.
  • Not checked: inserting the patterns in the live Site Editor, and real Action Network and Google Calendar embeds (only sample iframes). The PR's preview zip can be installed on staging for that.

Add five general patterns based on the survey of live organizing sites:

- Events and calendar: upcoming meeting cards with RSVP buttons, an
embed area for a calendar such as Google Calendar, and a full-calendar
  button.
- Embedded form: a framed spot for a signup form, petition, or donation
  form, such as Action Network.
- Header with button: the site header with a button, such as Join,
beside the navigation. The title wraps sooner so the tools stay on its
row at 390 px and wider.
- Join steps: three numbered steps with buttons and a donation band.
CSS numbers the steps, so reordering keeps the sequence.
- Footer with columns: site title and tagline, contact and social spots,
and a full-width spot for a legal notice.

Empty embed areas stay hidden on the front end until an editor pastes
embed code. Embedded form iframes fill their frame's width. A new
chapters test component checks the preview page's geometry,
accessibility, empty spots, and embed widths.

Describe Peppermint as needing few plugins, explain the light and dark
setting, state how accessibility is tested, and point contributors to
AGENTS.md. Use second-level headings under the title.
