What

Adds a contributor-facing CLAUDE.md at the repo root — the one structural gap a survey of official and popular community plugins surfaced (Anthropic's plugin examples and the major community plugins all carry one; this repo is developed largely by Claude Code sessions, so encoding the session invariants pays for itself immediately).

Content is pointer-first and compact: where the contracts live (PORTING/UPSTREAM/TESTING/CONTRIBUTING), the vendoring and zero-dependency invariants, the harness rules that are easy to violate mid-session (no repo edits during background e2e runs, post-run stray-session checks, MCP server restart semantics), and the evidence bar for behavioral guide changes.

No other structural changes were recommended by the survey: layout, versioning, token discipline, and testing already match or exceed the converged conventions.

Verification

Tier 1 (246 tests), fidelity audit, and claude plugin validate pass; the new file carries no vendor-header string, so the markdown sweep tests are unaffected.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Pointer-first session context for a repo developed largely by Claude
Code sessions: where the contracts live, the vendoring and zero-
dependency invariants, the harness rules that are easy to violate
mid-session (no repo edits during background e2e runs, stray-session
git-status checks, MCP server restart semantics), and the evidence bar
for behavioral changes. Standard practice in official plugin examples;
kept compact since it loads into every contributor session.
