AFAICT this project is currently not actually testing under different Rails versions. I'm unaware of any logic that switches off the
$APPRAISALvariable and looking at the logs it appears we install the same version for every job.Explicitly setting the BUNDLE_GEMFILE (and generating files using
bundle exec appraisal install) restores the intended behavior.
