Counterspell Dictionaries is the public, community-maintained dictionary registry for Counterspell. Counterspell is open-source; its supported, signed, precompiled release is sold separately by its developer.
The registry is intentionally simple. Every dictionary is a plain UTF-8 word
list in dictionaries/, and registry.tsv contains its metadata. The generated
catalog.tsv is published from the catalog branch for Counterspell clients.
- Anyone with a GitHub account may propose a dictionary by pull request.
- Mechanical validation is not editorial approval or endorsement.
- Valid submissions may merge automatically after the repository's checks pass.
- Maintainers reserve the right to delay, reject, delist, or remove any dictionary. Submission does not guarantee publication or continued listing.
- Dictionary maintainers control updates to their own entries. Other people can suggest changes through GitHub or publish a fork under a new id.
- Community dictionaries may be inaccurate, incomplete, offensive, political, contested, or unsuitable for a particular user. Install only what you want.
See CONTRIBUTING.md for the format and submission rules.
