IMPORTANT NOTICE: This repository is part of AlterWare's wind-down operations, effective September 2026. These clients are provided as-is for archival purposes only.

What's Inside

This repository contains downloadable client files for legacy Call of Duty modding clients:

• iw4x-sp - Modern Warfare 2 (2009) single-player client
• iw5-mod - Modern Warfare 3 (2011) client
• iw6x-client - Call of Duty: Ghosts client
• s1x-client - Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare client
• BOIII-Client - Call of Duty: Black Ops III (2015) client

Critical Information

These Clients No Longer Work

Due to the Steam update of 2026, all of these clients are now non-functional. The game executables they depend on have been patched by Activision and are incompatible with the older versions these clients require.

Support Status

• No support provided - Issues are disabled on this repository
• No updates will be released - Development has ceased
• Launcher deprecated - The AlterWare Launcher is no longer supported

Installation Instructions

iw4x-sp (Modern Warfare 2 SP 2009)

Required files:

Move both files to your Modern Warfare 2 (2009) game folder
(Steam 32-bit release)

iw5-mod (Modern Warfare 3 2011)

Required files:
├── iw5-mod.exe
├── iw5mp_server.exe
└── raw/
    └── (folder containing script fixes)

Move all files to your Modern Warfare 3 (2011) game folder
(Steam 32-bit release, version 1.9 - pre-2026 patch)

iw6x-client (Call of Duty: Ghosts)

Required files:
├── iw6-mod.exe
└── data/
    └── (useful files)

Move all files to your Call of Duty: Ghosts game folder
(Steam release - pre-2026 patch)

s1x-client (Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare)

Required files:
├── s1-mod.exe
└── data/
    └── (useful files)

Move all files to your Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare game folder
(Steam release - pre-2026 patch)

BOIII Client (Call of Duty: Black Ops III)

Required files:
├── t7x.exe
└── t7x/
    └── (folder containing client files)

1. Move t7x.exe to your Black Ops III game folder
   (Steam release - pre-2026 patch)

2. Move the t7x folder (similar to the data folder in other clients) to:
   C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local
   
   Example: C:\Users\JohnDoe\AppData\Local\t7x

Requirements

• Pre-2026 patch version - Newer game versions are incompatible
