# Akash Network - Chain Special Interest Group (SIG) - Meeting #37
## Agenda

* BME Resilience Improvements
* Pyth Price Feed Migration
* Smart Contract Upgrades
* Governance Proposals
* Validator Coordination

## Meeting Details

* Date: July 28, 2026
* Time: 08:00 PDT
* Recording: Coming Soon
* [Transcript](#transcript)

## Participants

* Artur Troian
* Long Quang
* Rodri R
* Tyler Wright
* Zeke Ezagui

## Meeting Notes

### BME Resilience

* The Core Team has been working to improve the resilience of the Burn Mint Equilibrium (BME) implementation following reliability issues with the existing AKT price source.
* The work requires new smart contracts and coordinated governance actions from Akash validators.
* Validators were briefed through email and the Validator Discord channel and asked to support an expedited upgrade process.

### Pyth Price Feed Migration

* Akash is migrating away from the existing Wormhole guardian signature mechanism used by Pyth price feeds.
* The migration is required because Pyth is changing its price verification architecture after intermittent guardian issues affected price feeds across multiple networks.
* The previous Pyth architecture was expected to be discontinued around August 18, making the migration important for maintaining reliable AKT pricing.

### Smart Contract Upgrade

* The migration will occur in multiple phases, beginning with governance proposals to upload new Pyth Pro and Pyth 3A contracts.
* Separate proposals are required because of Akash's transaction-size limits.
* After approval, additional proposals will instantiate the contracts and configure the new signature verification architecture.
* New Hermes relayers will then forward prices from the updated endpoints.
* The old contracts will be retired after the Core Team confirms the new infrastructure is operating correctly.

### Governance & Validator Coordination

* The contract proposals will use expedited governance.
* Validators were asked to vote within the first 24 hours of each proposal becoming available so the migration can be completed quickly.
* Additional parameter-change proposals were expected to follow shortly.
* The Validator Discord channel will serve as the primary coordination point for questions and updates during the migration.

### Closing Remarks

* The meeting focused primarily on completing the price-feed migration and strengthening BME reliability.
* Tyler Wright encouraged validators to monitor governance proposals closely and vote promptly.
* The Core Team will continue implementing and monitoring BME resilience improvements.

## Action Items

### Core Team

* Submit the Pyth Pro and Pyth 3A contract proposals.
* Submit contract instantiation and required parameter-change proposals.
* Deploy updated Hermes relayers for the new price-feed endpoints.
* Monitor the new infrastructure before retiring the old contracts.
* Continue improving BME price-feed resilience.

### Validators

* Monitor the Validator Discord channel and governance proposals.
* Vote on expedited proposals within the requested 24-hour period.
* Raise technical or governance questions through the Validator channel.
* Support the coordinated migration to the new Pyth price-feed architecture.

Tyler Wright: Welcome everybody to SIG Chain monthly meeting. Today is Tuesday, July 28th, 2026. During the special interest group for chain or blockchain, the Akash community comes together to talk about all things related to again the Akash blockchain. this has to do with validator relations. again just the blockchain in general, network upgrades, etc. this meeting is later in the month and has been moved a couple of times because there's been a fair amount of work by the AOS core team tinually add some resilience to functionality. as been discussed in SIG economics BME was implemented believe three months ago at this point.

Tyler Wright: There's been one source via the BME mechanism and that source has continued to have issues. the core engineering team has been working on some resilience. So again there's some new smart contracts and validators have been briefed because there are some things that they're going to have to do to speed up this process. Again, there is a message that's been shared with all validators via email and in validators discord channel. but I wanted to pass the mic over to Archer to talk a little bit about the why and then just again quickly lay out the next steps for validators should be voting again expeditiously so we can get this done over the next three days.

Tyler Wright: So Archer, I'll hand it over to you to just quickly again go over why again and then just talk about some of the proposal and parameter changes that are coming on chain shortly.

Artur Troian: Hello everyone. yeah, so some of you may heard that team announced the migration away from wormhole guardians as the signature mechanism for the P price feeds and that affects P core product that Akash network is using to fetch and verify prices from the P So what's going to happen is initially the deadline was July 31st but they extended it now till August 18th I believe.

Artur Troian: Basically what's going to happen at August 18th the P score will be pretty much shut down in the current form and new form of it it actually is available as of now so anybody can do forward migrations and that's what we are doing up to August 18th the verifications signatures were coming from the pole guardians and I guess there have been some kind of intermittent shutdowns of the guardians in the last couple months that led to the price on quite a few networks and I believe that's why PS decided to change the signature approach

Artur Troian: and apply the same architecture they use for P pro which is using the Z routtors for that. So here is the plan. today we will be up we will have multiple governance proposals today tomorrow and it's going to be split in multiple phases. so the phase one will be to upload new contracts onto the chain. Reminder all of the contracts on the cash network as of now can be uploaded only to the governance proposals and we have to split them in separate proposals due to the limit on the message size on the transaction size So the transaction size is one megabyte and if you put two contracts it's just going to be slightly over it. So we'll submit two proposals today. One is for the AP pro another one is going to be for P3A.

Artur Troian: as soon as they pass both proposals will be expedited and as soon as they pass we will submit instantiation proposals to both contracts. so one will be to instantiate prova P3A with instantiate P pro with P3A contract ID. So the first one can verify signatures and instantiate P3A with the roer signatures. and I think as soon as that that is done we will spin up her layers that will forward prices from the fresh end points and get a price fees flowing to the network.

### 00:05:00

Artur Troian: And as soon as that's done, we will probably shut down the old contracts in a couple days. just after we make sure that everything is up and running smoothly. I think that is it from the core team.

Tyler Wright: Thank you, Again, the main ask is to make sure that you are voting on these proposals within the first 24-hour period so we can expedite them and get this process done. again I'm going to make this recording available in the validator chat as quickly as possible. If anybody has any questions after listening to this recording, please feel free to drop them in the again, we use the validators channel as a connection point if anybody has any additional questions. but the main goal is to vote on these proposals as they come online as quickly as possible.

Tyler Wright: Does anyone have any other topics related to the Clash blockchain that they want to talk about? Again, the main focus of the next efforts for validators is to make sure that they're voting on these proposals as quickly as possible so we can expedite them and improve the smart contracts that support again BME implementation. any other topics of discussion that anybody wants to discuss otherwise give you all some time back again I'll make sure this recording is available as quickly as possible and believe Arur will be following up with again proposals for parameter changes on chain sometime very shortly

Tyler Wright: If not, then again, have a great rest of the day. I'll cut this recording as quickly as possible and share it with validators at the very least. And as always, it'll be in the community repo and the Kosh network organization. But thank you to those who joined and thank you to those watching later and we'll continue to push and again improve the resiliency for BME implementation. Thank you Archer. Have a great day everybody.

Artur Troian: Thanks everybody. Seal.
