Summary

Two commits that have been sitting on the rajat branch since 2026-08-04 with no PR. db7a992 is a hard dependency of the trace-forward Gate A check in ar2#8: the node verifies capabilities: ["trace-forward"] on the Hub JWT, and this is the commit that issues it.

  • d1da1ab — proxy timeout fix
  • db7a992 — issue capabilities: ["trace-forward"] for users with role="authority"; look for seed_geoid in the proxied payload

Why this matters

main does not carry the capability claim. Deployed from main today, no user is ever issued capabilities, so every POST /traceforward fails Gate A with 403 regardless of credentials. The trace-forward feature is inoperable against hub main.

Test plan

  • Register a user with role="authority", log in, decode the JWT, confirm capabilities: ["trace-forward"] is present
  • Register a user with role="farmer", confirm the claim is absent
  • Run scripts/e2e_traceforward.sh from ar2 against this hub: the Tier 3 path returns 200, the farmer path returns 403 on Gate A
