Timeout error at name setting splash screen

I just downloaded the app on iOS 18.2, but I can't get past the first step. I typed in a name at the first step, and it just loads infinitely until it throws a timeout error.

I tried re-installing the app several times, but it doesn't do anything.

Just came here to say I have the same issue. The app seems to be abandoned which is a pity because e.g. Signal does not support live location sharing and TICE is seen as an alternative.
