Issue with Brazilian GameCube (PAL-M) BIOS #1343

Open

Description

@aaaaaa2213

When using PAL-M BIOS, some games like Mario Sunshine run just fine without any issues. But games like Double Dash have issues with video/audio output. Sometimes you can get video and audio from the game but no video from the BIOS, or vice versa, you can get video and audio from the BIOS but no video from the game. I tried forcing different video mods, patching the BIOS, and tweaking other settings, but it still doesn't work. Note that I am using an NTSC-U/C Wii console with YCbCr cables.

    I wanted to see if the BIOS file itself had anything that would require it to output a PAL-M video signal, and it doesn't. All of the video output to PAL-M was handled on the Brazilian DOL-002(BRA) console, as it has the hardware that creates the unique PAL-M video signal.

    Well that's weird since the PAL-M bios launched on my pal Wii have some glitches in the image and color issue.

    I don't know if it will do anything but what you can test is open the bios file, decrypted, in an hexadecimal editor software and go to D40-D43 offset, and replace 38 60 00 08 by 38 60 00 00.
    Re encrypted the bios and try if it gain some NTSC bios behavior.

    I'll try that, thanks! Might be a while until I can respond
