some polish to do:

  • recently, we changed the width of the user message to 100%. could we instead set that as max width, so that smaller messages only take what they need
  • for tool call / thinking blocks, can we add a margin on the right side as well? same px value as we have on the left side, so that it’s balanced/symmetrical
  • i think the way the content clipping is implemented for tool call blocks with “cross” icon on the right side is bit off. seems like in that case the space is always reserved for the “collapse”/“expand” chevron icon. while for non failed tool calls it behaves properly (the content is clipped only on hover, when the icon is actually visible)
  • let’s remove hotkeys for some actions: focus (e.g. Focus Transcript) and "move project up/down” and “next/previous session”
  • recently, we made the popups/dialogs don’t hit the app window’s edge and instead always have some margin. this works well for “report an issue” popup, but for some reason the version (“tau is up to date”) popup still hits the edge. interestingly, it has a margin against the sidebar edge (on the right side of the sidebar), so maybe it’s enabled but just the edge/boundary is wrong?

Left unaddressed by your choice:
review: R1 · P2: Preserve fallback focus when Focus Sidebar has no usable destination
test: T1 · WebKit cannot launch, blocking required cross-engine verification

Size user bubbles to content, mask only visible tool controls, and inset update popovers from viewport edges. Retire seven shortcuts while preserving palette actions and explicit focus destinations.

Add rendered geometry and keyboard regressions for the affected surfaces.
