Does frepple Fit into Natural Gas Trading Business Operations?

I am looking for a solution that can help transitioning from Excel workbooks into a solution that can help a Natural Gas Trading Company do planning and forecasting of supply and demand. We have suppliers, gas transport network operator and customers where we buy from suppliers within a given territory and get the gas transported by the operator to one of their pipeline segments endpoint for customer delivery. We buy gas either fulfill existing customer contracts obligations or do spot/futures sale .

The business has long term contracts and spot sales business including auctions for excess gas. At this stage, based on the conceptualization, it looks that the features of frepple produce the desired output/outcome that meets our requirements. However, it seems that the focus of frepple is on physical goods, manufacturing and distribution business.

I am sure that I may have missed something due to my lack of knowledge with frepple, so I would appreciate any insights about its alignment with the requirements mentioned above. Thanks in advance.

Frepple definitely hasn't been designed with your business requirements as reference.
You mileage may vary in how much of your excel workbooks it covers.
Maybe it works for you, maybe it doesn't... Only you can tell...
