conditional email status tasks?

I scheduled a multi-task chain that runs nightly & I'd like to have it send a status email at the end of each chain iteration wether it fully succeeded or not. Assuming all tasks are defined with ignore_error=TRUE as to not abort the chain, how can I generate the email task with the subject or msgbody reflecting the corresponding success or failure status? Is this supported? Would it require creating timetable.parameters on the fly?

I guess the strategy would be to:

1. add the payload tasks to your chain
2. create an email task defining a parameter template
3. compute the status of payload tasks
4. add sql task to alter the parameter template with the status
5. move order of email task to the end of the chain
