Make low noise cymbals more silent for e-drum use

Hi all,

does anyone have an idea on how to make low noise (acoustic) cymbals more silent for e-drum use?

I tried one with edrumulus (just put a piezo on them) and it works fine and the feel is definitely better than with a rubber pad. However in comparison to rubber pads it is loud. Not super loud to annoy neighbors, but sufficient to annoy me.
So any idea to further mute them without losing the acoustic feel is welcome.

So far I use these and it works just fine, but I still get that nasty high pitch wood on metal click which is louder than anything on my headphones.

I guess I could try noise cancelling headphones, but those tend to cause a delay...

Try rubber tips on your drumsticks or make your own: I make mine with heatshrink and a thin piece of foam (not EVA; preferably poron or some other that doesn't flatten over time). Wrap a single layer of foam around the tip, hold it in place with some sellotape, and cover that with heatshrink of the appropriate diameter. Then apply heat.
