Group SMSs show as 'unknown' and have no messages

Current Behavior

SMS messages in general show much more reliably than with GSConnect, but group messages, i.e., SMS text with multiple participants, show as 'unknown' in the message list and clicking on them brings up an empty thread. Additionally the messages show as Jan 1 regardless when they're from. Clicking details show empty contact info.

Expected Behavior

GSConnect show them as expected.

Hi, sorry I haven't had time to check this out yet. There are certainly some bugs in messaging, however there was also a kdeconnect-android release (1.35.2) that fixed some problems on the Android side.

Could you try the updgraded app to confirm this particular bug is in Valent and not the Android app?

Sorry to get back to you so late, but KDE Connect updated to 1.35.3 and the problem has vanished. I have no idea what the changes were in that release; it could be that just the update process itself changed something. Anyway, the messages come in in good order and look as nice as they can. I have a somewhat similar issue.

My messages load, but contacts don't. I'm also unable to send messages via the + icon in the top right corner.

The appropriate permission was given in Androids KDE connect.

When using the vanilla KDE Connect desktop app those functionalities worked.

Hi, sorry I haven't had much time for this project, but I have noticed the same thing about contacts (which probably prevents starting new conversations). Could you open a new issue for that, specifically?
