ALVR opening/closing SteamVR

small issue I have, not sure if someone could help me here with it.

I’m trying to use the wired connection option with ALVR, as soon as I click on it and start steam, launch the app on my quest 3 — at the bottom left it keeps saying it’s connected, then disconnecting, and connecting, over and over again.

I’ve tried to add my quest as a trusted device from wireless and THEN try the wired connection option, but that still doesn’t work.
Any solutions?

All drivers and versions are up to date on their latest stable.

While it's doing the connect/disconnect loop, open PowerShell and run this five or six times in a row:

adb devices -l

Then paste everything it printed. Don't worry about picking out the important bit, just paste all of it. What I'm looking for is whether your headset is listed every time, and whether the word next to it changes between runs.

Same thing with this one, a few times:

adb forward --list

If it prints nothing on some of the runs, that's worth knowing, so paste the blank ones too.

If adb isn't recognised as a command, ALVR downloads its own copy under %LOCALAPPDATA%. Search that folder for adb.exe and run it with the full path.

Also:

Does it still do it if you turn wifi off on the headset?
Is any other Android device (phone, tablet) plugged into the PC at the same time?

Hey! I’ll respond to this later on today; but until I get on my desktop I’ll give some extra context for you.

I have always tried to connect with my wifi off, but I have also tried to do its wireless connection with WiFi, which, works flawlessly, but I do a lot of hosting for games like ITR2 and games that use the client as a host, rather than a server, which requires me to have the most stable connection I can have.

I think i ran into a similliar issue with Vive Focus 3, looked to me like ALVR tried to open steamvr multiple times until it just breaks and resets steam alltogether. a few times it started working fine, but it mostly seems to get ,,stuck'' in that loop of opening and closing steam
