| Technology | Version | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| React | 19.2.0 | UI framework |
| TypeScript | ~5.9.3 | Type safety |
| Vite | 7.2.4 | Build tool |
| React Router | 7.13.0 | Routing (HashRouter for GitHub Pages) |
| Fuse.js | 7.1.0 | Fuzzy search |
| Tailwind CSS | 4.1.18 | Styling |
Key Decisions:
- HashRouter: Chosen for GitHub Pages compatibility (no server-side routing needed)
- Fuse.js: Lightweight client-side fuzzy search (no backend required)
- Tailwind: Utility-first CSS for rapid development
- No State Management: React Context/hooks sufficient for this app size
- Client-Side Only: All data fetched as static JSON (no API server needed)
- Search bar filters items in real-time
- Search works with Chinese characters
- Click item card navigates to detail page
- Detail page loads item data
- Back button returns to search
- Entry links navigate to correct items
- Synthesis tables display correctly
- Images load with lazy loading
- Placeholder shows on image error
- 404 page shows for unknown routes
- Mobile (375px): 2 column grid
- Tablet (768px): 3-4 column grid
- Desktop (1024px+): 5-6 column grid
- Touch targets min 120px height
- Tables scroll horizontally on mobile
- Text is readable at all sizes
- Images lazy load
- Search responds instantly
- No unnecessary re-renders
- Bundle size reasonable (<500KB main chunk)
- TypeScript strict mode
- No type errors
- No console errors
- Consistent component patterns
- No unnecessary comments
- Props properly typed
- GitHub Actions workflow created (
.github/workflows/deploy.yml) - Vite config has correct base path (
/EndFieldBuildSim/) - README with deployment instructions
- DEPLOYMENT.md with troubleshooting guide
Once pushed to GitHub and Pages enabled:
- GitHub Actions automatically builds on push to
main - Deploys to
gh-pagesbranch - Available at
https://username.github.io/EndFieldBuildSim/
cd web
npm run build
cd dist
git init && git add -A && git commit -m "Deploy"
git push -f git@github.com:username/EndFieldBuildSim.git main:gh-pages- User can search "紫晶" and see matching items
- Click item → navigate to detail page
- Detail page shows cover, name, type, description
- Synthesis tables display with resolved item IDs
- Click table entry → navigate to that item
- Responsive design (mobile & desktop)
- Ready for GitHub Pages deployment
- Loading states for better UX
- Error handling with user-friendly messages
- 404 page for unknown routes
- Lazy loading images for performance
- Item count display in search results
- Back navigation buttons
-
Initialize Git (if not done):
git init git add . git commit -m "Complete EndField Build Sim web app"
-
Create GitHub Repository:
- Go to github.com/new
- Name:
EndFieldBuildSim - Public or Private (your choice)
-
Push Code:
git remote add origin git@github.com:USERNAME/EndFieldBuildSim.git git push -u origin main
-
Enable GitHub Pages:
- Repository → Settings → Pages
- Source: GitHub Actions
-
Wait for Deployment (~2-3 minutes):
- Check Actions tab for progress
- Visit
https://USERNAME.github.io/EndFieldBuildSim/
-
Test Deployed App:
- Search functionality
- Detail pages
- Synthesis tables
- Mobile responsiveness
- Image Loading: Items use external CDN (bbs.hycdn.cn). If CDN is down, images won't load.
- Client-Side Only: All data must be fetched as JSON. No server-side API.
- Data Size: 10.4 MB of JSON data loads on first visit (cached afterward).
- HashRouter: URLs use
#symbol (e.g.,#/item/193). This is required for GitHub Pages. - No Backend: Cannot update data without redeploying. Must run data collection scripts locally.
When game data changes:
# 1. Collect new data
python3 data/fetch_details_browser.py
python3 data/extract_synthesis_tables.py
# 2. Update web app data
cp data/item_lookup.json web/public/data/
cp -r data/item_details web/public/data/
cp -r data/synthesis_tables web/public/data/
# 3. Commit and deploy
git add web/public/data/
git commit -m "Update game data"
git push
# GitHub Actions will automatically redeployRecommended future enhancements:
- Filter by item type (devices vs items)
- Sort by name/ID
- Favorites system (localStorage)
- Dark mode
- Download synthesis data as CSV
- Multi-language support
