Display provider-supplied model names for custom endpoints

I’d like to contribute support for optional name fields returned by custom endpoints’ /models responses.
The UI would display the friendly name while continuing to use the original model ID for API requests and selection. Models without a name would display their ID. Search would support both names and IDs.
I already have an implementation prepared, including tests. Would you be open to this contribution, and is there an existing issue I should use and request assignment on?
