I was using the pom file generated by maven for parsing the XML to get the license metadata. It seems that this library has a license ( http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0 ) but it does not support it in the gradle while pushing the artifacts to maven as shown in this https://docs.gradle.org/current/userguide/publishing_maven.html.
Simple changes to https://raw.githubusercontent.com/blundell/release-android-library/master/android-release-aar.gradle file in cropper library would do the trick.
